Winter Wonderland!  The weather at Tuesday's GLAX game against Northampton was more like January than March.  Even though the weather was frightful, the snowy conditions were delightful for the  players who enjoyed their first win of the season.

HORNETS FINISH 3rd at Zephyr Duals (01/04/14)

Fr. Tyler Capora's major decision helped the Hornets to a 3rd place finish in the Zephyr Duals.  Leading the scoring were Lucas Schaf (4-0), Cole Franklin (4-0), Tom Alcaro (4-0), Tyler Capora (3-1), Taylor Schaf (3-1), Mark Lawrence (3-1) and Austin Faugh (3-1).

SCHAF/ALCARO GOLDEN IN SAUCON VALLEY INVITATIONAL (12/07/13)

Jr. Tom Alcaro controls his opponent on the way to his gold medal at 220 lbs.  So. Lucas Schaf also earned gold 120 lbs.  The Hornets recorded 8 total medals in 14 weight classes.

FIELD HOCKEY DEFEATS NAZARETH.  MOVES ONE STEP CLOSER TO 26TH CONSECUTIVE DISTRICT XI TITLE (10/30/13)  EHS 1  NAHS 0

Sr. Krissy Mikelson was the hero in the Hornets seimifinal win over Nazareth.  Mikelson scored the game's only goal with 10:06 left in regulation.

Sr. Avery Lewis was a big reseason why Jr. TB Wyl Miller (27 carries for 126 yds) and Jr. FB Andrew Davidson (88 yds and 3 TD's) had success running the ball against the Blue Eagles.

Head Coach Kelly Musselman and her girls tennis team earned silver medals at this year's District XI 3A Team Championships. The Hornets final record was 14-3, and 11-1 in the LVC.

Congratulations to Sr. Mandy McCarthy and Justis Faulkner and Jr. Shannon McGinnis and Parker Lewis who were selected to the LVC Soccer All-Conference first teams.  Faulkner was also honored at the boys MVP.

BUTZ-STAVIN GETS 800TH CAREER WIN (9/30/13)

Monday night at Memorial Field, Sue Butz-Stavin's team defeated Freedom 12-0 for the 800th win of her "hall of fame" career.  Congratulations Coach and here's hoping for many more victories in the future.


Sr. Ashley Moxey scored 4 goals in the Hornets victory over Freedom.

GIRLS TENNIS WINS 5 MEDALS AT LVC TOURNAMENT (9/30/13)
Kelly Musselman's team continued to impress by winning 5 medals at the LVC Championships.  Hornet medalists were Kelly Nguyen (1st Singles Bronze). Catherine Garrity (2nd Singles Bronze), Victoria Chan (3rd Singles Bronze) and Katrina Guido/Amy Yang (1st Doubles Silver).

FOUR GOLFERS QUALIFY FOR DISTRICT XI INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP (9/30/13)
Monday at Mahoney Valley CC 4 Hornets qualified for this year's District XI Individual Golf Championship scheduled for Monday, October 7th at Blue Mountain CC.  Sr. Carlos Fullerton (74) was the tourrament medalist, followed by 2013 LVC Amateur Champion Grant Schumaker (78), Mike Lessel (81) and 2013 LV Amateur Junior Champion Max Harrington.

THE EASTON GAME  (9/27/13)

Nothing new!  Just like every game this season, the outcome came down to the final seconds. With more than 6,000 screaming fans in EPSD Stadium, Easton had the ball on the Hornets 29-yd line with 23 ticks on the clock.  As their quarterback dropped back, the Emmaus defense, which controlled the line of scrimmage all night against their bigger and better known opponent, pushed forward and forced him to his right where blitzing LB Quandre Mentzel pulled him down to seal the victory as the clock ran out.

SAM MACKARAVITZ - OUR ANGEL WARRIOR

An Angel Warrior is a child who shows great vigor, courage and aggressiveness when facing cancer.  6 yr old Sam Mackaravitz begins his second year as our Angel Warrior and honorary captain for all EHS Athletic Teams.  This Friday, Sam will represent the football team at the pregame coin-toss.

ARCHITECTURE CLASS DESIGNS AND BUILDS TICKET BOOTH

Last year Scott Didra's Architecture Class designed and built a ticket booth for Memorial Field.  Early this September Mr. Didra's current class help move the booth to its new home at the Pine Street Gate.  Buiding on the success and enthusiasm of last year, this year's  project is to design and build a press box for Memorial Field.  If the ticket booth is any indication, the press box should be very impressive.

WOW!!!!  What a way to start the 2013-14 Athletic Year.  On Tuesday, August 20th Sr. Carlos Fullerton shot an unbelievable 7-under par 65 at Riverview Golf Course to lead the Hornets to victories over preseason favorite Northampton and Easton.  Carlos' 65 set a new school record and tied Riverview's course record.  Congratulations Carlos and team.
