Activities
Chorus

All fifth-graders at Macungie Elementary School are part of the Fifth-Grade Chorus. It is a very exciting part of the fifth grade year! There are two concerts, a Winter Concert in mid-December, and a Spring Concert in late May. The students sing, dance, speak, act, and have a wonderful time working together. Chorus meets every week on Tuesday afternoons. There are also after school dance practices for students who want to show off their dance moves!

Hand Chimes

Macungie Elementary School sponsors a Handchime Choir every year. Eleven fifth-grade students are selected to be in the Handchime group, which performs at both the Winter and Spring concerts. The Handchime Choir practices at recess time every Wednesday. The students are very dedicated and willing to give up their free time every week to make beautiful music together! For many students, it is their first opportunity to play in an ensemble. We are lucky to have this opportunity for our fifth graders!

 Tiger Trotters

The Tiger Trotters is a walking club for fourth and fifth grade students at Macungie School who are interested in participating in a structured physical activity. Parental permission is required for this weekly activity. The club meets during recess either outdoors or inside during inclement weather. Adult supervision is provided by parent volunteers and staff members. Highlights of the Trotters are multicolored miniature feet which they earn according to the number of miles walked and a t-shirt designed by one of the club members and worn on Trotter days. More information is available from the nurse, Mrs. Civic.
