Be ready to enter the Writing Zone this year!

 According to Donald Graves, as quoted in Teaching Adolescent Writers by Kelly Gallagher, "If kids don't write more than three times a week, they're dead." There are so many ways for students to spend time writing! In language arts class, we will respond to prompts, and students will create a list of the "territories" that they can write about. 

Your list of "territories" can include:

  • anyone who is important to you
  • anything you like to do
  • anything you consider yourself to be an "expert" in
  • anywhere you have visited
  • your favorite foods
  • your favorite places
  • anything else you'd like to write about!
