Mr. John Cari is entering his fifthteenth year in the East Penn School District. 2010 will be Mr. Cari's 1st teachign 7th grade laguage arts. Mr Cari previously taught 8th grade language arts. During his tenure in the East Penn School District, Mr. Cari has also served as the department chair for the middle school language arts program. He was also the initial webmaster for the school's web page, co-created BUZZ-TV, the school's morning announcement show, and has served on the district's technology advisory committee.
Earlier in Mr. Cari's teaching career, he taught ninth grade journalism at Emmaus Junior High School, where he ran the school's award winning newspaper, What's Buzzin' .
Before his tenure at East Penn, Mr. Cari taught reading at the Boyertown Area School District.
Mr. Cari’s relaxed personality and easy-going manner helps to make his classroom an inviting place for students.
After school, Mr. Cari serves as the varsity head coach for the Emmaus High School boys soccer team.
In the past, Mr. Cari has also spent 14 seasons coaching track & field, serving as Emmaus High School's head coach from 2002-2008.
Mr. Cari is a 1994 graduate of La Salle University where he graduated with a degree in English, and also a certificiaton in Communication Arts. Mr. Cari recieved his master's degree in 2000 from Lehigh University in Instructioanl Technology. He also has a National Writing Fellowishp from Penn State University. Mr. Cari has also furthered his education by taking coursework through The University of Colorado, Amherst, West Chester, and Indiana Wesleyan University.
In Mr. Cari’s free time, he enjoys reading, trivia, watching TV, and relaxing. Mr. Cari is married. He and his wife Colleen have three daughters, Molly, Emma and Kate, a son, Nicholas.
