Third Grade Homework at a Glance...
Language Arts: Students are encouraged to read nightly for 20 minutes. In addition, many of the following workbooks, with spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and focus skill practice, may come home on a regular basis. Remember to study for your spelling tests and vocabulary tests on a weekly basis.

Math: Students are encouraged to review new skills and math concepts on a nightly basis. In addition, they will be required to have fast fact knowledge of their addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts. Look for the following books to come home for practice or review:

Science and Social Studies: Given on an as needed basis due to the difficult reading level of the textbook. Students will need to bring their binders and textbooks home to study before quizzes or tests.
- Homework is a way for students to practice what they are learning in the classroom.
- Students should expect about 30 minutes of homework each night.
- If studying for a test, students should use any workbooks, worksheets, notes, and textbook information on the topic.
- Parents are encouraged to look over their child's homework and help, if asked. We would like for the homework to be completed by the student, though, because they can learn from the mistakes they make.
- Homework is not graded.
