Take responsibilty for the energy you bring.

Welcome to the 2011/2012 school year! I have a lot of great ideas and new things to try for the school year. I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you. One thing that I would like you to do if you have come to this website is to email me. Tell me all about you. Tell me what you love and what you don't like about everything you can think of. I will follow this with an example about me. Use the email address that follows. Make sure that you get the ok from mom and dad then write, write, write. Also check out the 1st day of school page to have all of the supplies that you need to start your year right!
Please email me at levans@eastpennsd.org
I have been a teacher for 10 years and have loved everything about it. I went to East Penn School district for K-12 grades so I am a life-long member of this wonderful community. As a student at Cedar Crest College, I studied psychology, education and math. As you could probably surmise, I love math. That is one of my favorite subjects to both learn and teach. After teaching first grade, I wanted to learn more about reading so I attended Kutztown University and earned my Masters of Education in Reading. I have always been an avid reader and really enjoyed learning more about the learning of reading.
When I was growing up, I was a swimmer. Practice was twice a day and it was a lot of hard work. Now I enjoy running, biking and going to the gym for my exercise. I have participated in four 1/2 marathons and will train for a 5th this spring. I believe that exercise is an important part of everyone's life and I hope to help all of you to gain an appreciation for it as well.
When I am not at school or working out, I love to play with my two kids and to hang out with my husband. Brian is an environmental scientist and has the discipline to work from home. He is an incredible cyclist, who races at the Lehigh Valley Prefered Cycling Center. He raced at Masters Nationals this year and we were very proud of everything that he has accomplished this summer! Jake, 7, is going to second grade at Shoemaker. He is also very active and has played soccer, baseball and does some cycling at the Velodrome as well. Lacross is the next sport he will try this fall. Gavin, 4, goes to pre-school at Saint Margrets Nursery School and will be starting soccer in the fall.
I look forward to hearing all about you when you send me an email or I meet you at school. Looking forward to September 6th!
Mrs. Lisa Evans
