Hello parents! Welcome to eighth grade mathematics at Lower Macungie Middle School. We have a very busy and exciting year ahead of us!
Let me first introduce myself. I am Michael A. Duarte and I will be your child's mathematics teacher this school year. I have worked at LMMS since 2004 and consider myself fortunate to work among such a professional faculty and staff. I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility.
I will do my best to ensure that each student has a motivating, challenging, and safe learning experience in the classroom. However, I cannot do this alone: I need your help! We both need to be partners in the learning process. I need you to encourage your child at home by helping to ensure that they have completed their assignments, and help them study for quizzes/tests, if necessary.
If at anytime you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me by calling 610-395-8593 ext. 26615 or by emailing me at mduarte@eastpennsd.org. The best times to call are between 8:00 am – 9:20 am, which is during my prep and team planning time.
Email may be the best option since I check it frequently and can respond quickly. I also encourage you and your child to visit this webpage and the "calendar" feature, where important class information, due dates, and attachments are posted. Please keep checking the ALL-STARS Team Website for important team information and LMMS reminders/dates.
